A portal will show you every house in Mecklenburg County. That is not helpful. These are the markets Mike actually works, with the waterfront filters already applied where they matter.
The listing search runs on Mike’s licensed MLS feed, which today lives on a separate search portal. You are not leaving his brokerage, and you are not handing your details to a national portal that will sell them to three other agents. Saved searches and alerts are set up in there and come back to Mike directly.

Portal neighborhood pages are drawn by whoever built the portal. These run on Canopy MLS data using the boundaries the MLS actually records, and where a name is not an MLS boundary the search runs on the postal code instead, which is stated on the card.

Before you tour anything on the water
A listing photo will not tell you whether the dock is legal.
On a Duke Energy lake the dock exists under a lake use permit, not under the deed. The permit number, the permit holder of record and whether the structure as built matches the structure as permitted are all verifiable before you write an offer. That work is not in any listing.
